As above stated, there is the option of a thought-form. However, its common that familiars come to you, you don't really pick them. They choose you.

Well I don't know much right now so I can't provide answers but I myself have developed a question. I have a dog who I consider my closest companion and I was wondering if there was a way to cast him as my familiar or something similar of the sorts where he could join me on my spiritual journey?

Familiars are spirits, not your pets.

I didn't know a familiar was a spirit either! I thought it was an animal that crosses paths with you in some way and becomes part of your family and works alongside you!

Well then, is official. I do not know if they are only spirits out if they can be living animals. I've heard from a mod(I think) that it can be either, but yet again, I hear that it is only spiritual. What gives? Lol

It can be both. Personally I found a dark fairy and I also have a og. The physical dog helps me with picking the right offerings to certain deities and the fairy helps carry my messages to the other side.

Familiars don't have to be spiritual they can be physical.
