Why is this website so dodgy about actually explaining magic?

It's not. In fact, it's quite direct, but most of the time such advice falls on neglecting ears.
Magick is an energy that can be willed to one's advantage. It is not some Hollywood hoodoo that can perform any physically impossible feat such as levitation, changing of one's own DNA, etc. It's also a tool that has Universal and Scientific limitations.
What you may just need to do is ask the right people.

Perhaps the issue is that you keep asking about magic that isn't real such as telekinesis and teleportation.

If you want to learn about real magic I would suggest starting with the book "Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig which explains clearly and step by step how to go about mastering the art of magick.

Well from reading your profile I can tell you lighting magick isn't a thing, shadow magick isn't a thing, and summonings are real, but don't expect anything like full metal alchemist where you draw a symbol, place your hands on it and a physical being is standing in front of you.

Magick is an invisible energy utilized to bring a desired change. Magick isn't as fantastical as seen in movies, it's far more like watching people pray, nothing interesting is happening for you to watch. There are several links you might want to read to understand magick further.
