Gnostic Information

No, not 'agnostic'. The Gnostics were a sub-branch of Christianity persecuted by the Catholic Church in the early centuries AD.

They believed in the 'Sophia', a divine woman, the source of wisdom, who was Jesus' wife.

For further reading: Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Mary (not allowed by the Catholic Church).

Rumours are there are Gnostics even to this day, although not many. I once met a girl who liked talking about 'The Sophia'.

I do know several Christian mystics, one of whom does practice Gnosticism.

I also know a LHP magician who had encounters with Sophia.

Legend has it the Sophia was a redhead.

I have yet to evoke her, so I cannot vouch, or not vouch, for that.

Also, on my end gnosis generally denotes spiritual ''insight'', or knowledge gained through mystical/magical experience. An ''agnostic'' is someone who does not have ''mystical knowledge''. The mindset of agnosticism is really of ''I don't know and nothing you say can prove or disprove the existence of divinity''. The A is obviously negation.

I'm myself a Gnostic; the Gospel of Mary is horribly incomplete, with the few nuggets of wisdom it could have had being lost to the sands of time at least up until the time of writing. I suggest reading the Gospel of Philip after Thomas, watching Jim Brown from Grace and Truth Ministries on YouTube (I consider him a Gnostic, though he doesn't use Gnostic terms), and looking into the original Greek of the NT.

Oh cool, someone who knows about it. Yes I've studied the Greek New Testament in quite a lot of detail. How familiar are you with Gnostic teachings about Simon Peter? My understanding is he was to Mary Magdalene what Judas Iscariot was to Jesus.
