Hey

As far as I know candles are burned on the jar to energise it.
And shake the jar gently with nice thoughts.

You can maybe drop off the part where you burn candles and just shake the jar to energise it.
Or hold it in your hands and focus with your intention.

I'm not an expert so I don't know if we can use an alterative to burning candles to energise the jar.
These are just my thoughts please correct me if wrong.

Thank you

Marie I already know that back in the day most hoodoos didnt have candles because they didnt sell them in stores as they do today. So using candles in honey jars are a new but sort of old concept. I just wanted to know how would I do it.

Something you could try would be putting your jar in a plant pot. That way, the plant can take the place of the candle. As the plant grows, so does your spell.

There are countless variations of the honey jar spell, incorporating all sorts of vessels and sweeteners, but most of the ones I know involve a candle in some way or another.

The very oldest ones were done inside sweet fruits and vegetables, notably apples and red onions, so you might have some luck searching for references to those.

In my real life (More personal) coven. We are mainly based on Hoodoo and Voodoo. I haven't seen anyone not use candles for their jars. If you not have access to candles, it's probably best to wait till you can get your hands on some.

My teacher is about 50 years old and she's always used candles. So that's the only way I know how.

Put it at the bottom of a flower pot with a plant growing on top of it, think of the plant as an antenna, radiating the intent like a candle does.
