Essential Oils

Hello there

I have a few questions and would be delighted if someone could answer me.

Can you use essential oils like peppermint, rose, jasmine diluted in olive oil instead of those conjure oils found on websites like luckymojo?

Do I have to roll the candle in the same herb of which I used my oil like for example I used jasmine oil does that imply I should roll my oiled candle in dried jasmine flowers or I can create a powder of different herbs in accordance with my intention of the spell???

Is there a specific way you tear the paper before writing your petition and also is it always necessary to use those grocery bag's paper or I can also use a white sheet of paper?

Thank you everyone who takes their time to answer me and clear my doubts.

I hope everyone is blessed with love and light!!!!

Yes you can dilute them in olive oil, I would suggest extra virgin olive oil, as it has a bit less smell.

I am not sure what spell working you are doing, however, I have never rolled by candles in herbs when I use oil. You can prepare a powder of your own choice.

Tear the paper how you see fit.

Use the paper you see fit.

Thank you so much for the reply... I hope you don't feel annoyed if I ask you the way a Hoodoo candle should be carved. From the research I did, people preach about writing your intentions from bottom to top like a name .... It is advised to write the name from bottom to top. For example Adam - A should be written first at the bottom and then D on top of it ( This is the case in when you're drawing someone)

Can you tell me some ways to carve a hoodoo candle?? It would be very helpful for me

My practice includes carving the name of the person or symbol between two people who will be affected by the spell.

Is there a particular way to carve a candle used in Hoodoo?
Please let me know

I am sorry, I do not practice Hoodoo. I use oils, so I responded only with my understanding of the.

You are correct. Lots of hoodoo practitioners, such as myself, carve their intentions into the candle starting from the bottom.

If you mean can you clear out like you'd cleanse with a sage smudge then yes I'd definitely say that burning oils would have the same effect, unless elemental (earth, air, water, fire) symbolism plays a major part in your practice and incense is supposed to symbolise air, I reckon oil burning has more to do with fire and water symbolically maybe? But the properties of the plant of the oil you're using will be the same no matter the medium they come in :)

It's perfectly fine to use essential oils diluted with olive oil. You can even mix different essential oils to make your own blend.

As for rolling the candle in herbs, it is fine to use different herbs. You don't have to use the same oil along with the same herbs rolled on the candle. Creating your own powder is a wonderful idea. Using different herbs and flowers according to your intention is perfectly fine and is something I like to do.

Lots of questions here, but I'll do my best to address them all:

In regards to petition papers, they were traditionally written on grocery paper, but you can actually use pretty much any kind of paper, and it's actually good to personalize it depending on the kind of work you're doing. You might write it on a bank slip if it were money, or a court document for legal work etc.

They are generally torn and not cut because the use of scissors indicates severance and hostility, but for some types of work this is actually beneficial.

The other two parts are really just different iterations of the same question; can I make my own formulas of powder and oil instead of using branded ones?

Yes you can, BUT, if you do so be sure what you're doing corresponds with established hoodoo uses of various herbs and minerals. Also bear in mind most rootworkers make these using at least three separate ingredients, or any odd number above that.

Recipes for the various oils and powders Luckymojo makes are quite readily available online, and if there's a specific one you need to find, mail me and I'll help you out.

Lastly, I'd recommend the use of canola(rapeseed) oil over olive oil. It's quite easy to find in supermarkets, and has less of an odor that might overpower an oil.
