Can anyone suggest a spell to help resolve a conflict between managers?
I'm a financial manager who is constantly having issues with the billing manager not doing her assignments.
Yesterday I had enough, so I sent her an email about her work. She basically told me to do her work. So I replied with an email about her work ethic. This sent her into a rage. She started crying and slamming doors at work in an unprofessional manner.
That evening I was pulled into the office by one of the firm's partners, pertaining to the incident. Before we made it into the office, he asked me if I knew why I was being called, and I replied that I knew I would be called in the office before I pushed the send button.
It was a one way street, meaning he told me I was wrong for telling her about her work ethic, but failed to mention that she was wrong for telling me to do her work.
He also mentioned that he wasn't getting a reaction from me during our conversation. I'm not sure what he meant, but it was no reason for me to react when I already knew how the situation was going to go.
I was told that no one is in trouble but things would need to be fixed.
Long story short, I'm new to the company and have made so many changes in such a short time. People don't like the idea, 1. Because I'm the youngest in management and 2. Because of my race.
So my question is? How can I handle this situation with pre-existing relationships between co-workers?
I just want her to do her work.
