Mermaids, no.

Genies, I don't really know, maybe in one form or another but they won't be the wish granting, beings that you hope they would be.

Faeries, yes they do exist, but as with genies they are not the small pretty flying beings that you want them to be, they also don't really live here, they live outside of our world but can come into it.

I will expand this to say that werewolves and vampires do not exist, as most people who come to this site seem to believe.

I would like to expand on the previous response.

Any of these beings, if and only if they do exist, exist spiritually, not physically. The belief in these spiritual beings is just that, a belief.

Some would argue that all of these beings exist spiritually, while others would argue that none of them do. It is a matter of belief.

physical realm no. we are in the physical realm. therefore no.

now many believe in other planes of existence like the astral, and on those planes some believe mermaids, genies, faeries, etc. do exist. it is also believed we can travel to their realm and vise versa though astral projection [essentially your spirit leaves your body. it's not your spirit, it's your astral body, but it's easier to think of it as your spirit as it would behave like a ghost] these creates also would not become physical in our realm as they would still exist in a realm between the physical [again, think of ghosts]

of course the astral is a personal belief and not a proven fact of the universe, so on that topic i would research yourself and draw your own conclusions. physically however, it's a scientific fact they are not physically real beings.

again asatru1 i am left scratching my head at your ramblings. arij asked about genies, mermaids and faeries, you started talking about how gamblers are seen as financial vampires. what are you talking about? there are many historic and scientific explanations for many mythological creatures, and i've never heard of your rationale. [also, could you please refrain from double posting? it's not hard to post everything you just said in one response. the website does not have a post counter.]

Why do people here think that fairies exist? What proof is there haha? I think it's rediculous. "Vampires and werewolves don't exist, but fairies do!"
I will never understand.

Rosa, many people have had encounters with the fae, they are also separate from vampires, werewolves, mermaids, etc.

These three are commonly considered to be humans who have gone through some kind of transformation, especially vampires and werewolves, people believe them to be existing "among us" in this plane. In reality they can be bottled down to bad medical knowledge and delusion.

However the fae are worked with by thousands, if not more practitioners and normal people with no knowledge of the practice. They are not humans who claim to be mythical creatures, they exist on a separate plane, much like the astral.

In general terms the fae are considered to be like spirits, they come and go, often remaining hidden and unseen but are believed by many millions of people, with huge amounts of folklaw dating back much further than any other "magickal" being.

Don't you think that calling an entire belief, ridiculous to be a little harsh, I am sure you wouldn't appreciate that from others and it is something that the magickal community hears far too often from people outside of it.
