Try it on different paper to see if it bleeds through? Or go in the back of the book and make a very small dot to see? That's how I cheak

nightwolf, that's probably an issue: I doubt Dykotian has made a purchase of the items in question.

And I definitely understand! I use dip pens and fountain pens. I'm quite familiar with the frustration of expensive, supposedly good paper, being no good for real ink, and only usable with a ballpoint pen.

It would bleed through, I have tested this with similar books and inks, also the pages of the Journal would damage any quils used on it because it would wear down the nib faster, for those books you are better to use Ballpoint Pens or something quite fine that doesn't produce a heavy amount of ink, as well as as basic enough nib which would last.
