There are no dangers, you astral project every single time you fall asleep but wake up fine.

Well one of the dangers is if you are astral projecting and you get nervous or if you get to excited that could ruin the process of astral projection and even keep you trapped.

On how you do it, there are Extremely many articles/threads like yours in this website and the whole internet... So it's pointless to say how...

Dangers..hmm, as the others said, intense emotions are said to destroy your experience.
I wouldn't say "side effects" as dangerous, due to the fact all these sounds and such you feel/hear when you're going to seperate are in your mind, or just energy things..sometimes an entity but that more rare...

Another danger I can think of-and they are a trouble sometimes, is when an entity follows you back or attaches itself to you and so on. There are entities that like to pull pranks, others may want to haunt your house, also feed of your energy and much more.
When you see entities in the Astral world you should always be friendly to them and cautious. Don't disturb them if they seem they don't want to be approached, or they seem unfriendly... You do not know what they are in some cases, there are more different kind of entities than the stars of the sky.

There are many different way to face that. One solution could be to ask protection from Spirit Guides while being there...
