I don't think spells have any external effect, I think they just change the perspective of the person casting them. Maybe if someone casts a love spell, they will have more confidence to speak to someone they are attracted to and will perceive that as the effect of the spell, if that's what you mean by "work".

Sounds really cliche, but thats just how it is. From reading your response to Prsona, I think your problem still lies within you, you say you hate yourself and you seem to have a problem with your insecurities.
Of cause it might help to talk to her, but its still Your problems that You need to fix and improve upon. A love spell won't help you the way you might think it will.
As for real spells, sadly there are many "fake" spells or at least less reputable ones on this site. However most spells on this site leave out what comes before actually casting the spells. Similarly to earlier responses, casting a spell has many factors, its more than just lighting a few candles and saying a few rhyming phrases, which is why most new members to magic are advised to the read the basics (there are a lot of articles in the forums).
For starters you need to gather the right energy for the spell, which is usually accomplished through meditation. And meditation itself requires a great deal of practise and discipline.
My point is, don't lose hope, like everything in life, magic comes with practise, so keep practising. But also be realistic, magic can't make your problems disappear over night like they do in movies. Sometimes you need to take the time to reflect on yourself and take an honest look at your problems because only then you can really see how you can fix them.
well regarding your spells in question, money and love spells work [though if you need a money spell to get your ex back, is it worth it?] but time travel and genie summoning don't [i am told people work with jinns but they don't grant wishes a la Robin Williams Genie]
it's sad but sometimes people break up for a reason. you seem to know that reason, have you truly learned and changed? a love spell can work if they still care about you but if you haven't changed [or haven't changed enough] then you're bound to break up again. focus on yourself before seeking love. if you two are meant to be you will get back together, but changing for another will not work, you need to figure out for yourself why you want to change. [sure another is a good motivator but it should not be your only or primary reason]
