Breaking a circle of salt

Hi, I am not sure where else to post this, but I am guessing here.
Does anyone know the rules of like breaking a circle of salt after a ritual? Is it okay to just tidy it up or is that bad? Please answer!

People circumambulate the altar counterclockwise or widdershins pointing to the ground and visualize the energy dissolve. In all honesty, it depends on the type of circle and tradition it's from.

For most circles, whether it be physical or energy, it is always important to be respectful and reverent when breaking. Usually one will thank the spirits and deities that were used to perform the ritual. After that I would recommend cleaning up in the opposite direction which you cast it (meaning if you drew it clockwise break it counter-clockwise). If you're asking just because it was salt, although salt is considered a pure mineral that may have magickal properties to some, it is more of a physical representation of an energy field that was created whilst pouring.

But I do agree with Embers, it is usually based on what tradition, culture, or path the circle resembles.
