The reason the names of angels are often split up and included within the triangle is so that the triangle is bordered with "angelic powers." Michael is popular because it is he who is supposed to lead the hosts of Heaven and he who cast down satan and so forth. Who better to invoke in guarding your triangle against the influence in a demon?

In my opinion, if you feel other methods are sufficient, it might also be readily bordered in Futhark runes or any other such markings intended to invoke potent protection.

It is important to remember if you're just glancing over this post that the triangle is frequently but a part of the markings, and that it is most commonly used in addition to the circle, wherein the demon is evoked and bound to one's bidding.

I prefer to use similar methods to invoke and then observe/converse with the spirit in question if it is willing to be pleasant. If it shows up at a request and then decides to be a jerk about it I've got no problem with binding.

WhiteRav3n, having used Solomon's triangle before i can honestly tell you theres no curse involved in using it. it is nothing more than a tool. i have used it for several years now and nothing more than minor has come to me,which can not be explained by simple logic, or science. well there was my stuff disapearing for a while, but i doubt that was magick that was just me misplacing my stuff. that warning is probly just there to scare away the ones who think they can simply "play with fire and not get burned". I on the other hand knew this and still used it.

Whiteraven, I actually agree with everything you said. For those who want to see the Hebrew version, it can be found here

th triangle is often theorised to be standing vertically with a black mirror in it's center for scrying the spirits. From my experience, this is not the case, the confusion came from the description in the manuscript saying it was to be placed 2 feet to the east and 3 feet over. The description of the circle however, says 9 feet over so in this case, over=across. Also, another theory is that the brass vessel should be inside of the triangle filled with water so the spirit can be scryed. I thought this was interesting but I disagree. The brass vessel is a substitute when you intend to imprison the spirit.

Micah, you had knowledge, and I'm sure you used Solomon's magick for worthy reasons. People who practice it just because they can or to have "fun" may not be so lucky. I do not believe in the monotheistic gods in the sense that they are described, but I do believe that it is all the same creator of our world through different perspectives. Or perhaps, these are just seperate gods all fighting for the "King" title. Who knows. Regardless, they exist in some way, even if its just through thought forms. I don't believe anyone knows the will of YHWH. I think it is just a fancy way of saying that it should only be used for serious matters, not trivial ones or selfish means.

The energy of a magickal practioner who creates a magick system, becomes apart of that magickal system. His or her will concerning the rituals, symbols, etc while writing them is imbedded in them. This is why we alter other people's spells if we choose to use them in our own craft, to disconnect and make it our own. But with such a highly intricate system, and powerful one, you wouldn't want to alter it. Abusing the magickal system against the original intentions of the creator of it, could very well have a backfire effect.

I just added that to discourage inexperienced or newly initiated witches from delving into the keys. For those who have had many years of experience in advanced magick, go right ahead. I personally don't like to dance around a curse, I'd rather use magick that doesn't have one involved! Lol

Perrych, what you say is very true. I remember reading something similar about the subject. I also believe that the vessel would be used as a means to hold or house a spirit. Metal, stone, and clay containers of all kinds have been used for similar purposes, especially in the Middle East. Since brass was a metal of strength to the Hebrews and it also substituted for gold which symbolizes celestial light, it would make sense that the vessel could be a representation of a physical divine empowered boundary to hold the spiritual being.

Although I think that Solomon, being so weathly, would have chosen gold for the vessel, the brass is for those less fortunate!
