Shapeshifting?

Why can't it be possible to physically shift though? I mean i understand what your saying but magick really can have physical effects on the world around you. Shifting might not exactly be growing fangs and a tail ( assuming your talking about shifting into a wolf) but there are supposedly some forms of shifting with heightened senses ect. I personally believe that this is a result of taking the spirit or essence of the wolf to heart and manifesting its energy into the real world.

From what i have been reading, it seems that people have different opinions. Question is, have you ever tried a Shapeshifting spell to know if its real? I can not do any spells yet, but if i could i would try the spell to see if it works. Ive been doing a little research into Shapeshifting to see what people's opinions are. Some spells will probably not work at all because, well, there just made up. But there has to be real spells that do work so, Why not try the impossible?

MadCat, if you heard of a spell to make you fly. Without any wings. Like Superman. Would you try that spell and jump of the roof? If you cast a spell that allows you to walk through brick walls, would you run at the wall, head down?
Of course you would not! You do not have to try it to know that it is impossible!
The human animal cannot be changed into another animal. Only children would think it possible.

If everyone believed this then no one would try and push the boundaries of reality. No one would invent simpley because something seems impossible.scientists would no longer conduct research or look for cures to seemingly incurable diseases.
The world around us.. Our REALITY is an extension of ourselves. And I believe as a witch it is our duty to push our reality. To test it . to discover what it could be. Whether it is with something as seemingly far fetched as shapeshifting. Or simple healing.
Magick is based on visualisation and to an extent.. .Imagination...imagination which children use and strengthen everyday. Therefore if children did believe in shapeshifting is it not possible for any other adult witch? I feel like you're seriously stereotyping young witch's. And personally. Ones beliefs are NOT debatable. I don't believe shapeshifting is possible yet but I'm Not going to say that it is absolutely undoubtedly impossible. It is simpley not achieved yet.

In reference to your other post nightqueen what you were referring to was not a form of shape shifting it is considered a form of channeling ,it is widely practiced within shaman groups and druid groves.

There are people who are called shifters. We cannot change our form in the physical world, that magic does not exist here. We do, however, take upon the animals characteristics because their soul is joined with our own so we 'shift' into them. This just means we share their powers, we use their vision, hearing, and instincts when we want or need to use them and of course we can do a full shift in the astral plane

I am not stereotyping children. I am saying that many of the things believed by children they "grow out" of believing as adults. I also said you don't have to try something to know that it is impossible. You do not have to actually jump from a high roof to know that it is impossible to fly!

Shapeshifting is impossible. If a shapeshifting spell did work it would kill you because you would looks so much brain tissue, muscle mass, and DNA that you would end up a vegetable because your body wouldn't be able to reassemble its neural networks, Maybe a Glamour, but I don't believe in those,
