Sorry if i misunderstood! Here in sweden men used to take wolf puppies from ther den, and then tame them (and go and hunt with them). So i guess it's different all around the world :) And what i mean is that dogs are ancestors of wolfs, so maybe it's something in that direction? (sorry just being open about my thought about this). But maybe it's also because of all the movies, and series? Like example teen wolf. They get so, well not in loved with these so called "werewolfs" but really interested in them. So they start having thoughts about it and if somebody say in a werewolf movie "The moon makes us mad" people will start to think that, they are werewolfs. I am not saying that we should blame Hollywood on it all, but i think that's it's defiently something with werewolfs in movies and series, that makes people all interested in wolfs :) Of course wolfs are amazing creatures, but there is no such called "wormpeople" in movies or series or "foxmen". So it's defiently something about the legend of the werewolfs. (sorry again if i misunderstood it all)

Yes, men have indeed tamed wolves from cubs,and trained them to hunt. And they are,indeed,the ancestors of dogs. But, domestic dogs, just like tamed wolves, can go savage in seconds. The "wildness" is always there. Which is why we have laws in Britain to keep dogs under control. Almost every day there is a story of a child being mauled by a dog that has "gone wild". Your pet dog really and truly is "a wolf on your hearthrug".
Werewolves,however, are a fantasy believed at a time when nothing was known about the medical condition that causes men (and even women!) to grow a lot of body hair. Some people still believe it!
I think part of peoples fascination with the wolf is that they are really a lot like us. They can be caring, nurturing with their young and others in their close knit group of "friends." They are intelligent and work together in groups to hunt, and even occasionally there are loners that live outside the pack.
Of course they are "like us". So is every other mammal.We are animals, and we are mammals. The nearest mammal to the Human is a Chimpanzee; but I wouldn't trust a wild one!
Well i didn't quite understand it, but i thank you for believeing it. And i didn't say anything about that dogs are all calm, and will never turn savage. And yes you are right, but every animal has the "wildness" in them, you can have had a bird for 7 years, never attacking anybody and then suddenly attacking one, or maybe just fly away, even tough you have never seen it do that before. And we also have laws here about keeping you dog/dogs under control. And i'm sure that there is laws about keeping dogs under control in different areas all over the world! (not every country but some) but, there is also laws here about other animals to. Like cats (You can only have 8 or 10 cats i don't remember. But also to make sure that the cats are under control to.) And people getting attacked by dogs, are happening all around the world, but i think "a wolf on your hearthrug" is a little misleading, since every animal as you said has wilderness in them. It's not only wolfs who are all wild. Every animals is. And yes werewolfs are all just made up, and interesting i didn't know about that kind of medical condition :) But imagination is wild, so people who might watch werewolfs movies (Not all of those people but maybe some) may start to imagine that they are werewolfs since they heard or saw it in a "movie" or a "series" of things that shows that you are a werewolf. So that might be a reason that people are obsessed by wolfs? And as you said about the Cimpanzee, they might sound all nice since they are mammals just like us. But they are wild so you shouldn't trust a wild one, or one that you have taken care of since it's birht.
I have to say that aside from your posts being interesting in and of themselves to read, I quite appreciate the ability of all involved here to not become personally offended by what others are saying. Maybe stupid, but it does encourage one to delve further into this site.
