It's more of an intuitive journey than something you can take an online quiz about. Books and websites have information that can help, but they can't find your spirit animal for you.
It also depends on your tradition. A lot of Americans refer to any form of animal spirit as a totem, but the Native American tradition of the totem was that of family or clan guardians.
The Icelandic/Norse fylgjia might be what you're looking for, because that is an animal spirit associated with an individual person, but in that tradition you would never know what that animal is until the moment of your death.
There are many other different traditions of therianthropy. The New Age sometimes makes the distinction between a "messenger" animal spirit (that is with you for a specific reason for a short time as a spirit animal guide), a "power" animal spirit, a "shadow" animal spirit, and so on, each one different.
The concept of spirit animals comes from the native american belief that we are assigned an animal totem at birth that we draw lessons from and gain an appreciation for nature. The web pages below do a better job of explaining it.
You can Google phrases like "spirit animal meditation" and find some guided meditations. There are audio ones, so you can put on your headphones and relax.
It's a subjective psychic journey, so my only advice is to approach it with a completely open mind free of expectations. People usually already have an idea of the animal guide they want , and this takes away from the mystical discovery.
