Candle use in magick

Hello! I have a question.

What are other uses of candles in magick, except for:

scrying, divination, spellwork and cleansing/purification

I don't need much detail - just general ideas would be enough. Thanks in advance!

Candles can also be used as a circle if you have enough of them. Be careful with them though. Make sure they don't tip over ect.

Candles can be used to honour ancestors and/or deities as well. At Samhain/Halloween, some people put candles in the window to guide the dead.

Nordstar has it about right. I have never been able to understand this idea of candles for magic. Originally, they had only one purpose--they gave light!

About 90%, in my estimate, of what people think is required for magic to work is a joke. Witches of old didn't spend the kind of money on supplies that modern witches do. They made use of what they had on hand

Quite true,Nordstar. The only money I spend is on Frankincense; because I like the small, and it has a soothing effect. I have worked with magic all my life, and have never had any "magic" tools. The knife I use to cut herbs is an ordinary kitchen knife. And I do have an incense burner.

Some spells work where you stare at a tea candle and focus hard on your intent. You might rub scented oil on it or carve an appropriate rune in the wax. When the flame goes out, the ritual is finished. Tools like candles are essentially expressions of your will, and there are other ways of doing it.

I agree with what you all said, I have found the Candles, as with scents, just help to focus, and dont really need to be there....
