My Hydrology Thesis
By:
Dear All,

I am trying to incorporate the Spiritual aspects of water in my Thesis. Basically where i am stuck at is making a connection between the more internal (Spiritual) aspect of water with the external (materialistic, precisely ecological economics) one. Would someone like to help me?

Thanking You.

Sana

I would start looking at ancient cultures and how the necessity of water played into the cultures and religions as there are plenty of correlations to be made there. To make it easier, start with cultures either you are familiar with or a person (or people) helping you are familiar with. Many people here practice reconstructed religions or practices of ancient cultures (pretty much all of modern Paganism is recon to a point).

You might want to look closely at the relationship between the ancient Egyptians and the Nile River. The Nile, to them, was the very source of life and huge celebrations were held to mark the annual flooding of the Nile.

At one time all rivers, streams, etc were sacred. Especially waterfalls! (There is a lot of energy in a waterfall!). After all, water is essential for Life.Nothing grows without water. All water was "spiritual". Water Gods, water Nymphs. To the "ancients" water was magic. Come to think of it, it still is! Even scientists don't really know where it first came from. All we really know is that it is formed by two gases, H2O. But how it got here in the first place, nobody really knows. Perhaps it really is magic!
