Sure, candles were introduced from the west but many modern Hindu practisioners use them

Also hindus are supposed to be vegetarian but many eat meat, the same applies to candles

I completelty agree with you ToxicDragon9.
Hinduism is soo vast that you will find different languages within the distance of two miles and not all Hindus are vegetarian but they were supposed to be at earliest of times. That's why I say that hinduism is not just about knowing what the orthodox traditions were but also about what we are now!

Flo.risa, (hope i'm writing it correctly) If there are no people to follow a religion the religion is as extinct! So the people are a crucial 'ingredient' in a religion and the way they follow it is also necessary to know.
Secondly I have replied earlier to the question asked, and I was merely giving my view on the discussion going on.

The same applies to many other beliefs and religons, they are all changing

Also remember that everyone has their own beliefs and we should not force ours on them

You people are adopting western culture but not hinduism. Its still the way it is. The candle thing, candles are not actually adopted by Hinduism, at least not yet I guess, do they burn candles in temples? No but they still use something called diya.
I may not know much about hindu (hello? I'm not hindu here!) But I spoke whatever I know and I don't think so I'm wrong

Of course you're not wrong, we use a deepak yes. But look above you said they don't use it in cakes so I simply replied to that. You don't need to get all defensive about it. It's merely a discussion going on. No one's contradicting you here.

Surely you are right it's not an object to be used in prayers but it is an object of use. And there is no debate going on.

WE DON'T USE A CANDLE IN OUR PRAYERS.
