Search of coven
By:
I am in search of a coven in my area, I don't want to get into any trouble by putting my location on here without proper permission but I had tried searching for a coven in my area, though I have had no such luck in finding one. I don't want to feel so alone anymore I want to be around other witches but being apart of one online doesn't feel the same for me.

Can someone help me with my search? Or have any information that they may have on any covens they have heard of that is in my area?

Thank you in advance

The best place to look for covens in your area is at http://www.witchvox.net They have listings for covens by state and then by city all over the United States, and by country all over the world. Check out the column on the left hand side of the page for links to listings of individuals, groups, events, and shops.

If you don't see a coven listed but you do see listings for metaphysical shops or you know of a metaphysical shop in your town check there as well. Not all covens advertise locally but might be known to shop owners in their town.

If you are under 18 it is unlikely that any reputable coven here in the United States will accept you as a member because of legal issues.

Not every community has a coven and not every coven is reputable. Always check out local covens carefully before joining one. Or, if there isn't one in your town you might need to consider travelling a bit to belong to a coven that is a good fit for you.

Hello,
Have you tried Meetup.com? I have seen Wicca meetups and other witch groups advertise their gatherings.

I highly agree with Lark's idea. WitchVox is a great website for community resources. MeetUp is also another great idea!

But, make sure you look up all the red flags of what a bad coven looks like. Take an extra measure if you do decide to attend any local coven. Simply observe and pay attention to what's going on around you. It's the Internet, so you don't know who you'd be potentially facing.

One last note to consider- from my experience, a lot of local covens like to require that a new member is 21 or up because of having wine at special rituals. But, what's always a major rule (from a healthy coven, that is) is that the new member must be 18 or up to legally be able to join. Id you're not 18, you'd need parental consent for you to attend any group. I hope this helps! :)

Parental consent means written parental consent and oftentimes that consent will not be enough depending on the group. Some directly require that you must be 18, because at any time your parents may revoke their consent and they do not always inform beforehand.
