Black and White? Really..

Just because everyone uses the term doesn't make it correct. There is no Black, White, Grey, ect. There is only magick. Yes, you can decide to only use a certain type based on your beliefs of good and evil, but everyones beliefs are different and also a lot of "Black" magick is justifiable based on what it is used for. How many of you agree, and if not, why? Just curious, and no hate please!

It is in our human nature to label such. You have seen it throughout our history.

Black people had limited rights in the US, even after slavery ended. Those born on a farm were called peasants. Angels and demons are both spirits, but to categorize them by their morality, they have different names.

If one is to react to magick being colorized, then I would say you were a fool. Animals and humans all possess living energies and have such abilities to control these energies, but we are not the same. Any person comparing a dog and a woman, would call the woman a woman, a dog a dog, and not label them as one because we share energies, but label them on their differences.

You can easily call magick black or evil, but it does depend on the caster to decide if it is for the good or the better. It is in our human morality to label things, and so we tend to do just that. There is no right or wron when you come to question morality, because humans all share some general sameness in it, but can still differ.

Using labels is our way to communicate. That fluffy thing that floats above, that is usually a shade of white, but when darkened becomes a storm producing water to fall down upon us. What am I describing? A cloud, of course. But when white, is it good? When it's dark, is it bad? We use names and labels to make communication easier. When using magick to help a person, are we healing them (white) or destroying the sickness (black)? It's all in our perception, which requires words to communicate what we are doing, or seeing, or intending. Just a thought..

You are correct, magick has no colour, only intent, but people use 'white' and 'black' because society has it deeply ingrained. Plus it's easier than saying 'positive in intent' or whatever, and it's easier to categorize. Personally I'm fine with it, it's not a big issue, and I feel 'gray' makes more sense since if you do a little digging most spells are white and black [positive/negative good/bad]
