New to online information

I'm wondering if this is a site that I should start with. The first thing I was told was to try and do a spell? I have known since I was in my teens that I was born a witch, but with no guidance and not knowing any others I dare not try to cast spells. I have studied things about all types of different versions of witches. I have spells of my own but again due to the unknown I have not tried any. I have asked for protection from the Goddess and God. But that is as far as I dare go without knowledge of what the consequences could bring me. I'm a healer, I know in my heart and I also have been told. I'm interested in white magic, natural healing, helping of others. I'm lost and need some guidance.

Do not start off with casting spells. Learn the basics such as meditation, centering, grounding, energy manipulation, and visualization.

These can be found in the forums.

This site is a wonderful place to get the guidance you seek and the help you need. Just be sure to trust your sources because there are a lot on here who think magic is like in the movies and that you can turn into something.

Just be mindful of that.

I do understand the dangers of magic that come along with the positive side, that is why I have yet to try magic. I do meditate and I have read and read,I guess I was just hoping for more then that. Maybe a connection to someone who is in a similar era as myself. Thank you for you knowledge.

If there is something you particularly study, you can apply for a coven on this site, with that path of study.

Only serious members are accepted into covens, so you will not have to worry about all of those children, because that is what they are, speaking nonsense.

To find a coven that suits your needs, click on the group forums and read through the covens and read what they are about. Unfortunately,, most covens today are not very active, but you can still join one and post and speak to others in that coven. What I mean by "not very active" is that many members of a coven do not sign on or do not post, making the coven very slow. But some are actually re-forming and are getting back on their feet. So I would look into a coven and join one.

Hi,

There are many online resources you can use out there alongside being a member of SOM. More knowledge and perspective will give you more understanding instead of sticking to one resource only. Do you practice Wicca? There are many great websites that can be trusted. Here are some you can check out:

http://www.wicca-spirituality.com

http://www.paganfed.org/cms

www.meta-religion.com

http://www.thewhitegoddess.co.uk/an_introduction_to_paganism/what_is_magick.asp

Those are some that I found via personally using them and/or doing a Google search. You can also check out my blog which centers around Wicca and neo-Paganism. It's called Midnight Candle. You can find that link on my profile page. I've been studying for almost a decade, hence why I write about it.

Blessed Be!
