Pact with the Devil?

I know this is a mine-field, but I would like to discuss this topic seriously if we might. I've been pondering the thought of "selling ones soul to the devil in exchange for talents/supernatural abilities". I did very little research on the matter so before I even think about bothering him/her/the devil I plan on doing WAY MORE research. While everyone is entitled to their opinions about this matter I'd prefer if those with different feelings would kindly leave this thread negative-free if possible, thank you.

In all honesty, there will be people who will say this is impossible because the devil isn't real. In my opinion, if you believe in the devil then the kind of pact you make with the devil may not be how you think it will be. For instance, I feel when you make a pact with a deity you are basically dedicating yourself to that deity and whatever you put in to show your dedication to the deity you get something in return for it like a positive feeling or the sense of the deity's presence around you, positive or negative depending on what you had put out into the world to connect with that deity; it's not like in Hollywood movies where you sell your soul to the devil by having a few drops of your blood in a fire(this is sarcasm please do not so this without research in blood magic) and then you all of the sudden are the most attractive person in town or can now speak to spirits without practice. So, definitely look more into this deity to see if the deity is one you can connect to and know you'd love to dedicate yourself to and you'll be on a nice start on your own spiritual path.

Be careful though. Unless you have GOOD reasons to trade your soul, i suggest dont go ahead. BAD reasons may pull you to eternal damnation on your free will. It is common sense, once you sell your soul, the buyer has full rights to do anything with it. I do believe the Devil is real, in the form of a soul. The most powerful dark force of the Universe.

It comes down to faith if the devil is real or not, but either way I don't think you can. I believe in reincarnation, this is rendered obsolete if you sell your soul. Second many believe your soul is what makes you, you. In this respect, unless it's after death, you can't sell your soul or you would become a mindless corpse.

Now, magick can only do so much, even if it's the devil, you cannot do something against nature as this contradicts the 'law' of magick. so you can't sell your soul for ice powers. [Try for a flying rocket-bike lol]

If this was possible I wouldn't do it without a long hard think. This is your eternal soul. At 15 the concept of learning from 'the devil' might seem really cool, but in 10 years, not so much, and by that time you can't take it back. Personally the devils not real, you can't sell your soul to him or anything as it is you.

Personally I believe in the Devil and wouldn't recomend selling your soul or making deals. After all the soul is eternal and would the deal be worth it for the limited time you have on the earth compared to your soul being held by the devil for eternity.

Just my personal belief.

Okay, I'm sorry, but why do you all keep referring to him as "the Devil"? I'm not a believer in him or anything, but it seems kind of... hypocritical of some to call him that when, anybody that knows anything about Spirtual Satanism, his proper name is Satan, Lord Satan, or Father Lucifer. And I mean hypocritical because the "devil" seems like a term he is called by people that don't know what he really is or like the people in Hollywood movies... Either way, it is all a personal belief.

There are several different spiritual worlds and many different spiritual beings. Why do you want exactly pact with a Devil?
Here is a good book about.

Summerdragon, Satan is a Hebrew term meaning 'opposer' or 'adversary' and can therefore apply to many beings and not just one being. The word is universal for any being (or person) who does not accept Jewish theology and seeks to oppose the ideologies of monotheism.

Lucifer is a specific being with a specific mythology behind him.

The devil again is an ambiguous term, but I think we know whom everyone is talking about when that term is used- the Judeochristian evil mastermind.

Personally, I am not a dualist, I do not believe in the devil, I think he was bogeyman concept to make sure people stayed in line. Since no one can define a soul, prove it's existence, or even quantify it- it could not be sold.

I don't know where people have got this idea from. Even in medieval grimoire traditions where 'demons' are evoked a deal is never struck, or if it is, it is never for your soul- it is usually for an offering or veneration. I have never once heard of a magician selling his soul, I think the idea is ridiculous and shows that people have no real understanding of occultism.
