I was sleeping and I felt like I woke up but not. There was this tingling feeling in my chest. That's when I became aware that my hands were above my head. I felt like someone was in my room. I just knew someone was there. I heard something and something touched my arm. I tried to move but I couldn't. My body was numb. I tried to open my eyes and they were glued shut. I then tried to speak and I couldn't even open my mouth. I kept trying and trying and it didn't work. My body was numb and I kept trying to move and talk, but it didn't work. I just let go of struggle and I seen my face. I don't remember anything else whatsoever until my alarm went off to wake up. I'm not sure if this is astral projecting or what, but it was very strange. That's never happened to me before.

It could be sleep paralysis, a.k.a. REM atonia. Some people consider that a stater for astral projection.

Maybe. Usually I know when I dream and turn it lucid. So I don't know.

Yeah, that's sleep paralysis. Pretty much every story of sleep paralysis I've ever heard went like that. My dad and sister have had it happen to them, and they found it incredibly terrifying... while I've always wanted to lucid dream, I don't want to experience sleep paralysis because of my anxiety issues. But I know if I ever do I'll be able to identify it and hopefully calm myself down. Hopefully... lol.

ive had that afew times. feels like an entity sitting on you and wont let you up. I think I do also astral project. but looking for answers myself so will start a new thread. hopefully you wont suffer with that again. its really not a nice feeling. the only thing I can suggest is....as your brain is fully aware of the situation use that to your advantage. control the situation and tell yourself to open your eyes...keep telling yourself untill you do....then tell yourself to sit up......continue untill you do....ive found it quite effective on afew occasions myself. :)
