Perhaps you can re-enter the dream, the memories of the dream, in a meditation. This can't/won't help or make these dreadful events come to pass any faster, so all you're doing is exploring why this is coming to you and what it could mean.
So, at every turn of the event in the meditation on the memory of the dream, every rise in emotion, anything interesting or off that captures your attention, ask, "Why this? What does it mean?" Feel the question, and if the memory sort of changes, or if you get an idea or a new feeling, then make note of that.
