Hey, I am new here. I am a 26 y/o guy from Glasgow in Scotland. I have been looking at this site for some weeks now and been too shy to join. But now I have. Nice to meet you all.

My mum is a pagan and thus I grew up with it being around me all the time. The rest of my family are Catholic but I never really got into the "hate gays, hate trans, hate everyone who isn't Catholic" kinda attitude. In fact, it was the exact reason I drifted away from it. I'd much rather love than hate tbh. It has only been recently that I have fully began to embrace Wicca. Before I was too shy to tell anyone, as being anything other than Catholic in my family got you the automatic "heathen" "abomination" "burn in hell" reaction...my family didn't like my mum too much because of it and she always got grief.

Anyhoo, I don't mind anymore, I am who I am and I believe in what I believe. I don't talk to many of them anymore so I can do as I please. I thought I'd explain my situation up front, so I hope yous don't mind my ranty-appearing post. Ha.

Welcome! Indeed, many attempts at converting people to another religion are spectacularly bad strategies. Why should you join their flock if they treated your mum like that? There's no humanity in zealotry.
