Mabon was really an agricultural festive season. It was the rest period after the harvest had been gathered in. Lots of eating and drinking, especially cider! Still is, in England!
The Catholic Church "stole" it, and gave it the name Harvest Festival. But so what? It's still Mabon.

Well to me I would do ritual for sure and thank the gods for one of the last harvests until summer. But you could then also take a walk in the park with your animal and just admire the nature around you and reflect on what you have done this year, after all mabon is a time for reflection. The others you could do are dancing, making leaf crowns or flower crowns aka making a stick and putting leafs on it, or make a new wand since plenty of sticks will be falling out. You could also make thank you cards or reflection card and send them to people or look at them and reflect how you feel about these things. Or you could just relax and thank the gods for everything.

Good ideas,CraCraIzzy. After all, it is harvest time, well, at least for the wheat. But really, it is the Autumn equinox, night and day are equal,so that should give some ideas of how we might celebrate. When I was growing up it wasn't even called Mabon! It was just known as harvest time. I think it must have been in the 1980s when I first heard Pagans calling it Mabon! But it was always a time of eating and drinking. (Cider) Many women in Yorkshire, where I live, would bake bread on the 21st of September. In old times it was the first bread of the newly harvested wheat. So baking a small loaf might a good idea.

There are two books that I'd recommend that discuss the Sabbats and offer suggestions on how to celebrate them including rituals, crafts, etc. They are:

Celebrating the Seasons of Life: Beltane to Mabon by Ashleen O'Gaea Celebrating the Seasons of Life: Samhain to Ostara by Ashleen O'Gaea

I found an e-book of the second title at http://www.4shared-china.com/web/preview/pdf/5VSxov1w
