We do try our best. The Moderators have to be something of a detective to catch out the scammers. They get up to all sorts of tricks. Petrarca does ban them eventually; but they come back as new members! Don't worry. We nearly always find them very quickly! It is why we try to read all new profiles.

Doesn't this actually belong in Comments?

Since General Info is "for posts about this website and announcements" and Comments is for "post [ing] comments regarding the site". While Misc Topics is in Non-Spell Topics for "topics not regarding spellcasting" all of the categories being for magical purposes, not announcements.
