As a stop-gap measure, you can ground yourself by focusing your mind on only what is physically real. This disbelief creates a sort of anti-magic shield. That's what worked for me, for a while, even though it took at least a week to shift.
When you cast a spell, the tiny bit of anti-magic that's there begins to dissipate, which might be why it seems to get worse. That can still work, though: sometimes things get worse before they get better. If you can write down your dreams, draw the difference forms of the person, then you can study this figure better and intuit motivations and/or weaknesses.
