In the first war hecate stayed out of fighting but she was more partial to kronos, but when the gods defeated their father and chopped him to pieces with his own scythe, and gained control, they granted amnesty to the more peaceful titans like hecate, calypso, and others. She is crone for her link to the mortal realm, and she is also maiden for she is immortal, and she will never be mother for she, like a few others, took an oath never to marry or have children.

When you said, "I just don't understand why people call her a crone, it makes no sense, they apparently need to read and learn again", just because you don't understand with something or don't agree does not mean people are wrong, right?? It is a old conception, you did not created that, so, you should learn and understand before saying or argue about.

You do realize she literally is a maiden, right? Only NeoWiccans call her a crone.

She is a maiden I agree. Yes neo pagans believe her as a crone. She is in fact a maiden.

From my personal experience with her, she doesn't feel, or show up to me as a "crone." In Greece she was never depicted as a crone. I think the BS crone thing came from Wicca. I also hear many saying she is some thought-form, this always makes me laugh. She is the most powerful and frightening being I have ever come across in my path, I was less afraid attempting to evoke a goetic demon or djinn without a circle "respectfully." People can believe what they want to and that is fine, but those who do serious work with her know.

Everyone had a different way to see a Goddess no mater how much 'fact' Is out there. Lets also remember, there really is nothing that is Fact. This is a religion, and in any religion its all assumptions and opinions.

If you we go on with opinions, heres mine. If it works for you than good, if not that leave it. I have always seen Goddesses as all three. When they say Triple Goddess, they mean the Goddess is a reflection of every stage; Maiden, Mother, and Crone. All Goddesses can take any of these forms, no matter if they have had children in myths or have not. Are you saying a woman can not have motherly traits if they have never had children? Mother stage is talking about a woman's motherly instincts that are reflected from the Goddess.
Some Goddesses choose to stay more in one of these forms, such as Hekate with Maiden. That doesn't mean she can't be a Crone and give us knowaldge. Or be a Mother and be nurturing.

Same as all Gods can be all three forms; son, warrior, and Sage (Sometimes called prince, king, and Elder). Than again, the concept of a triple God is debated.
