Hey everyone! I have a book that tells me a tiny part about the four most common types of magic: Folk, natural, ceremonial (high) and sympathetic. Now it told me that sympathetic magic is the use of objects to represent your desired outcome; for example, turning on the shower to make it rain.
Could anyone tell me a bit more on sympathetic magic? It would be very much appreciated, thanks.
I describe it using the phrases 'As above, so below', microcosm reflecting the macrocosm, and symbolic action (taken from an earlier explanation I gave in a separate thread). What it means is that your actions reflect spiritually and makes a path for what you are doing to happen. Just keep in mind that you are contributing a portion in the grand scheme of things, so no spell or action you do will work %100 of the time.
