Tools and Placebo

Hi everyone...i would like your input on this topic :)
so the more and more i learn about the craft the more i begin to realize that the only tools you really need to manifest your desires are to have strong wanting and intent and a powerful belief that your desire will for sure manifest...im begining to feel like the wholei ritual and big ceremony with all the toold herbs candles etc is just a big show designed to give us confidence that our spell will manifest...kind of like the placebo effect.
Dont get me wrong i love all my tools and nothing gets me more excited than going shopping for magical items however i do wonder if the tools truly to posess power within them or is the power only within us? What do you think ? :)
blessed be all

That is the point of the tools. To help us get into the mindset, and to represent the things that are important to us. Many people who practice font use tools because they surely aren't needed, but of course it's fun to. And no power comes from the tools, all of it is US and the universe.

Thank you cat...but what do you think abour coresspondonces? Like for example if i wear a rose quartz necklace does it truly have within it love drawing energy ? Or sage for example does it really have within it cleansing qualities? Etc etc....thats were it gets tricky for me....i am very open to believe and hop that they do possess magical qualities but i do sometimes have doubt if you know what i mean...:)

It, of course, depends on the path.

In hoodoo, we talk to the herbs. They have a spirit attached to them (and that spirit is either considered connected to God or God itself). So, in that respect, the herbs are being talked to, awakened, so they know what they are supposed to do. They aren't inanimate objects that are there to give us confidence. They are filled with a spirit on their own working *with* us.

I am watching scott cunningham documentry on youtube about herbal magic and he is saying the same thing you said conjurelady:) that herbs and plants have a specific energy and a life force and mixed with our intention they can be very powerful to manifest our desire :)
