Breath in through the nose out through the mouth!
As you breath in count slowly to three. Hold your breath for a count of three. Breath out slowly for a count of three. Hold your lungs empty for a count of three! Repeat twice more!

Now breath in for a count of three. Hold for three. Breath out for three leaving off the final hold. Allowing your breathing to return to its normal cycle. Repeat twice more.

Now breath in for three leaving out the middle hold and out for three!
In for two out for two!
In for one out for one returning to your normal base.

Personally I just sit quietly, breathe normally, and meditate!

My spelling was corrected? Aaaaah!!! Yes thank you Linda. Even auto correct cannot save me.

I find that with this two things happen. By focusing on my breathing I begin to shut out the noise of the world around me. Slowing down and disconnecting. As you progress increase your holds and counts to four/three, five/four, as much as you want.

This is to me not really a full meditation though it can certainly be used as one. For me though I use it as a pre meditation. A way of finding my center and clearing my mind and thoughts.
