You mean evoke the spirit in the real or astral form? If you invoke the spirit, all you have to do is to ask it to appear in the circle by saying, "I invoke you ____. Please help me and thank you."
If you're looking to evoke spirits, astral evocations as well as physical evocations can deal with spirits you call in person. They is to not to be trifled with. I successfully invoked Ariel in the ritual and had a nice talk with him. It can be worse as you can summon demons and do irreparable damage to your life. So be careful with that art..Btw, what spirit are you contacting?

Well thats a bit difficult. You can get many different responses to this question the least of them the wrong answer. Many people see spirits in a different light. I'm a bit of an eclectic so my answer may not be fit for you. I'll try anyway. If you already know how to work energy and are familiar with invocations of archetypes then i would suggest first doing as much research of the spirit you wish to invoke. I've found myself quite displeased with certain "possessions" i've willingly entered in my beginning years and was forced to research more. Bad things can and do happen some of them physical, but, not nearly as horribly portrayed as Hollywood. After adequate research has been done attempt to surround yourself in the etheric body of whatever spirit you have chosen, visualization is very important. What you are doing is connecting to this spirits pool of energy, so to speak. Once embraced allow the spirit to become one. This is not recommended for the light of heart of the dabbler who wants only power. As you may have noticed there was no protection method involved, this is because you can't willingly invite someone while subsequently throwing them out. So, if indeed you made a wrong move its up to you to get it out. Adequate amount of study ,i will repeat, is highly recommended. Also, a spirit is like a person; The more you hang around a certain one, the more you are likely to pick up some of their habits or characteristics. Good luck and hope it helped.

According to the dictionary at the links below, evoke and invoke have the same basic meaning and they both mean to call to something. I recall a post somewhere on here that explained one word was used in older times. I don't remember which word came first.
The terms are often used interchangeably, but many use invoke to mean drawing things into them. Yes, I'm sure that is what she wanted as well, though from previous posts I don't know how she could set the frame of mind without a fire, candles, incence or any other thing:)
