It is the same as doing reading face depending in who would shuffle. When it comes face to face their are readers who would not let there querent a touch their cards and just tell them to think of the questions while others would just let the querent handle their cards. Now online reading, what I usually do is I just shuffle the cards while I chant the question in my head. When I feel the need to stop I pull 3 cards for the question and one more card for the shadow card or conclusion card depending if I want to sum it up for the querent or if is there is problems.
For the yes and no question the spread the I seen others use are these:
Upright, upright, upright is yes
Upright, reversed, upright is maybe
Reversed, reversed, reversed is no
Reversed, reversed, upright is no
Upright, upright, reversed is likely yes
It also depends on what cards you get as well.
