Locking threads

Well I thought a bit before posting this, but I have a genuine doubt

Why are questions like these locked?
http://www.spellsofmagic.com/read_post.html?post=562412

Not bragging, but I was the only one who actually answered the question...

Now I have seen many posts in which some 'knowledgeable' person will answer the post and just lock the thread so that his/her point is last and everyone can see it and people who are not tagged 'knowledgeable' cant even answer!

Any answers?

That particular post was locked because everyone (except you) had already told the original poster that on-line so-called chakra tests are for entertainment only and don't give an accurate reading of one's chakras at all. (You merely gave him another on-line test (equally inaccurate...he'd already taken one). The OP hadn't asked for more tests, he'd asked if the one he took was correct. So there was nothing more to add to the discussion.

That's generally ther eason that threads get locked. Threads often get locked because the original question has been answered, the question is one repeated over and over, the discussion is getting too heated, or the original question had to do with what are considered fantasy spells,

My English or understanding can not be that bad, he never asked if test was right or wrong or accurate or not.

He simply copy pasted from somebdy's profile and asked if he can know from where you can get those details.

So Miss/Mr, there was absolutely no need to lock that thread!

The question was answered and a moderator decided to lock the thread...end of story. I consider this forum to be of a similar condition.Lark has explained why that thread was answered and locked which answers the original question.
