Strange dreams

For the past month or so, I've been having upsetting dreams in which I lose one of my senses. This sudden loss of sensation doesn't happen suddenly; it's actually gradual throughout. I barely notice it in most dreams until something triggers it (like, I won't notice that I can't hear until someone is trying to talk to me, won't realize I can't talk until I try to say something, etc).

Anybody have a theory as to what this might mean? It's much appreciated.

Dreaming of being deaf symbolises that you are secluded from others around you, it can also mean there is a truth you don't wish to hear.

Dreaming your unable to speak can mean there is something you wish to say but your worried you will be judged for it.

Hope this helps.

Also loosing your voice in a dream can also mean your lacking in personal confidence and you have lost your right of speech so to speak.

It's not just those two senses. It's all of them, but not at the same time. In one dream, I won't be able to see. In another dream, I won't be able to move or feel touch. In another, I can't hear. And the loss of a sense in the dream lasts for a long time and I usually wake up in a panic.

Perhaps your dreams are trying to tell you there is something missing in your life.

For a really long time I had dreams in which I couldnt 'see'
I have perfect vision but my dreams were all 'audio'

This pattern changed after meeting my BF
So, my learning is that, something is missing from your life, you do know it but not using it...for example you can read people minds but you are not doing it!

Dreams where the dreamer loses sensation often relate to your mind slipping in and out of it's REM cycle (the part of sleep where you dream. During a slip or transition from non-dreaming sleep to dreaming or vice versa your body goes through phases of paralysis which sometimes triggers auditory or general sensory malfunction within your dreams. This could be why sometimes you feel as if you are slowly losing the ability to speak, hear, see, ect. Your body during paralysis literally cannot do these things either, but it lasts mere moments in reality while the sensation (or lack there of) may last a while in dreamstate.

Hope this helps! Take a relaxing tea before bed!
