If you feel you have a strong connection with the elements, maybe you should look into elemental scrying. No need to choose one!

Good for you, Idylla. It is completely possible to be connected to all the elements, no matter what you classify as elements because we are all connected to each one.

It is also possible to have a deeper connection to one element in particular, but that doesn't mean you should start working with it exclusively. All the people out there who say "Earth/Water/Air/Fire is my element!" don't realize that they are all 'their elements'.

Or you could have an element that is a mix or a side element. My element is lightning. I guess it happened due to my ada being water-elemented and my nana being of fire. So I just happened xD. So my mayan zodiac told of my element. Fun.

So try to look into your zodiac, hobbies, interests and you might find your most prominent element :)

Everybody has a connection with all elements, since our very nature and existence is tied very intimately with every element. The sun provides us light and without it almost all life would cease. Water provides us with sustenance, most of our bodies are made up of water. The earth provides us a place to grow food and live. Air moves the weather, provides us with energy, gives us breath. It would actually be less natural to have a concrete connection with only one element, when being connected to them all gives us the balance that we need in order to live a healthy and comfortable life.

Your feeling on the elements is rather spot on.

To be honest, I am uncertain where the concept that we all have one element that we are tied to came from. Likely it was a misunderstanding of some of Levi's works that was then written down and published in some new age publication intended to just make money.

Here is a post I have created to perhaps explain the concept of the elements in depth:

Since this was posted in the Neo-Druidry section, I will respond to it from a Druid point-of-view.

We actually don't know if the Druids believed that each person had one element, or if the elements were supposed to connect us to nature, in that air is our breath, water is our blood, fire is our warmth, and earth is our body. However, this text or "prayer," as it could be called, was found written in ancient Irish and is speculated to pre-date Christianity:

I arise today
through the strength of heaven,
light of sun,
brilliance of moon,
splendor of fire,
speed of lightning,
swiftness of wind,
depth of sea,
stability of earth,
firmness of rock

This text actually suggests a belief in nine elements rather than the four of five commonly used in Wicca or Neo-Paganism. This poem or prayer suggests that the Druids did believe that we are all composed of and share the properties of all nine elements.

So yes, according to the Druids, you are "normal" in feeling a connection to all of the elements.

(keep in mind this is my personal interpretation and not necessarily that of all Neo-Druids)

Blessed be,
e

Ah, that's lovely. Thank you for the insight. I haven't heard much about Druidic concepts that potentially date back that far.

Well I'm sure you haven't, because I barely have! :P Most of Druidy was pre-literacy, so they didnt really write anything down until the late periods of Druidry. That's why I say "speculated" to be pre-Christian. Most literacy came after the Roman colonization. Druidry is hard to learn about, especially when I live in Southern California, the land of Protestants. :P

Oh very insightful! I haven't heard that before and it makes more sense to me, as I consider almost everyone to have a connection to spirit... So the nine makes more sense to me actually.
