Reading runes is fairly simple, once you learn how to interpret them. Send me a photo of what you're deciphering and I will do it for you. If you choose to do it yourself, read from right to left, just like Hebrew.
The way I started learning was by reading the book that came with my set that went into the history, uses, explanations of each Rune, layouts etc. Then I sat with them and held them in my hands to absorb my energy, (as I do before each reading). Then when I felt I was ready to do a reading I did. Just like Tarot cards there are different layouts you can do. A simple one would be the 3 spread. Or you could either draw just one out of the bag or lay them out and pick one for a yes or no answer. Also it matters which way they get laid out. Such as an upside down "reversed" rune will have a different meaning than a right side up rune. One thing I have learned is that you cannot go word by word on the meaning of the Rune from a book. It'll confuse you and lead you off into another direction. I only do readings when they "call" to me. Otherwise I cannot focus and cannot get a clear reading. Then again that is just me, it could be different for you. Do some research and some reading on them so you can get a better understanding of them before just jumping in and then not getting the result you thought/hoped you'd get... Hmm I think I need to speed some time with my Runes, been kinda neglecting them lately.
