  • You can sometimes find them in gift shops, bookstores, and Occult based shops.
  • Print digital decks on cardstock or paper you can laminate.
  • Search online for shops, groups, or individuals that (make and) sell cards in your vicinity.
  • Make them by using graphite, colored pencils, crayons, markers, charcoal, oils, pastels, etc.

Making a deck can be rewarding, though it can also be a painstaking process and will take time. Whatever deck you choose or make, be sure that you resonate with it on a personal level, rather than just choosing or making a deck that looks cool.

Bookstores usually have them. If you're in Canada then Chapters/Indigo Spirit, if US then Barnes & Noble. ahah You could also definitely check occult stores near you. Or you can make your own, which to me is a hassle but its a good idea since you're putting your energy into it. And at least that way it appeals to you! (:

You can always buy a gift card on Amazon to buy tarot cards that what I usually do or you can give the money to your parents so they can order the tarot cards online using their Visa card.

The other places to buy them are at Bookstores, occult stores, and sometimes at bargain books. All you have to do is find them.

Also some record stores have things like thistoo...in Indiana we have Vibeand Karma stores that sell cd's, clothes, skateboards, jewelry for piercings, some adult items,ect... You will know when you pick up the right ones. Your gut will let you know. Listen to it. You can even put the deck back down and try to walk away, but chances are you will go right back to them before you are done looking around...At least thats how I found my deck. I googled metaphysical shops and drove over an our away just to look around. I left with a moonstone necklace, 2 books, and my tarot cards. Best wishes!

You can never go wrong in picking tarot cards just follow your instinct so do not worry yourself too much. It is more likely that the first deck you buy it will be your most companionable friend. Now if you become obsess like me than you will keep buying more and more that you will not have anymore room to put them (lol).

Thats fantastic your looking for your first deck, i remember mine i looked so hard and got the rider waite.. I was told on few occasions that tarot cards are best received as a gift? Im not sure where I heard this, and not sure if its true..Also they can be made out of regular playing cards and you add the major arcana.. If you needed them to look like something "normal"..

Hi serpqueen666,

The giving tarot as a gift is nothing more that a mere wives tale. You can buy your own cards and nothing will happen and if someone gave them to you as a gift it is "best" because it has sentimental value. I have 3 tarot cards out of 19 that was given to me as gift by the people I love so of course it is my favorite cause it was given to me by the people I love. It does not mean I read better with it. I read the same with all my cards so it is just superstitions.

Hi Destiny0428,
You can use them as many times you want as long as you do not keep asking the same question over and over again.
