New here.

Hello,

I am a new member of this website community, just having joined a couple of minutes ago. I'm looking into getting into witchcraft and magic, but I have a couple of problems that seem to be preventing success - I'm wondering if anyone could help me:

1. Visualizing:
I have a problem visualizing things - I don't know why, but I do. Every time I purposely try to visualize something I want to happen, I end up seeing something else. Often it is either a random fear of mine, or the opposite of what I want to happen. Any ideas on how to overcome this?

2. Ingredients for Spells:
Due to parental restrictions, I am usually unable to get ingredients (or candles) for spells. Is it possible to cast without them? I read somewhere that you can visualize the ingredients being used instead - is that effective? I tend to think that the mind itself, as well as the energy it channels, is the true power source.

My first tangible goal is a love spell. I would appreciate it if anyone here could recommend a good one for me (a guy using it for a girl). Also, please let me know anything I can do to make such spells more effective.

Thank you!

http://www.rampant-griffon.net/paganplace/basics.html

This site has a visualization exercise
http://www.theurbanpagan.com/visualization.html

I hope that helps. Also feel free to message me I know like tons of other visualizing exercises you can do if that does not work for you.
Also you don't need anything for a spell.Just look for another spell, make up your own or use something else. For me however I don't use anything except for my voice and maybe paper and a pen on some occasions.
I'm pretty friendly and don't judge much so feel free to ask me if you need help with anything I don't bite.

1 visualizing

I read an interesting article (sorry I would post the link if I could find it) about how when people try to not think of something it actially brings that thought to the center of the mind. Basically try telling your self not to think of polar bears and soon you will think of them. to get around this try to meditate and clear your mind first. then try to visualize. Dont try to force other thoughts out as this draws them to the surface.

2 ingredients for spells.
You dont really need spell ingredients. these are just tools to focus your intent on the spell. they allow the mind to access the pathways needed faster and with less hastle becouse it gears the mind up for a certain way of thought. They are tools and nothing more. that said they do make many spells more simple, especially the first few times a spell is cast.

Hope this helped

Thank you very much for the links. I haven't had time to go through all of them yet, but what I have seen looks to be very informative. I plan on starting visualization exercises as soon as possible.

As I mentioned above, one of my major goals is a love spell. In your opinion, would I have higher chance of success if I made up my own spell, or used another from the spell books here (without ingredients mind you)? I'm not going to try it until I've got the visualization down, but I'm curious as to your thoughts.

(Any other thoughts relating to how to increase the success of a love spell would also be appreciated.)

Thank you!

I see other people have replied with plenty of resources, but I'd like to share with you a personal method I used to control my thoughts.

Simply do not control them, let them wander, and visualize whatever comes to mind, this is part of thinking inwardly with yourself. If it is a random fear, then perhaps you can try to focus specifically on what that is, and try to decipher why it's coming to you in your head. From there, it may have passed once you've let it out, or perhaps you can find ways to banish that fear from your mind. It's just a matter of practice, my friend!

Again, the articles/links and suggestions others posted, I'd recommend those as well. This is just one of my own ways to think about it. The more I thought about trying to focus, the less I could. The more I just sat there and let my mind flow, I found that it became easier to empty my mind. Letting those thoughts pass was relieving in a way, and now it's usually quite easy (most of the time, when I'm not stressed) to visualize inwardly more properly.

I hope this helps! It's just a matter of practice, my friend! :)
