What is this for?

Ok so I have recently been interested and drawn towards a tool that i have no idea what it does, how it works, how to use it or where to buy one....

What is a sigil Talisman skull

one as seen in this link

http://www.13moons.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=15924&zenid=bfa2def764e0a658e296aa31905497a1

What tradition of magik does it fall under, what are its uses, by standard definition(while i disagree that everything is so simple) does it fall under black or white magik. where would i find reading material on this tool?

Tools can not be white or black magic as they have no use on their own as their only use is whatever you use them for

I notice the symbol that represents the male gender on it on the side and with a half moon over it on the front

The symbol on top is almost Solomonic but I can't tell as I can't see it all and it's far too small

I'd probably contact the website if there is an option to do so and ask what the purpose of this object is

See heres the thing, I recognize all the symbols, and i do get the whole black vs white thing. What Im asking is not this skull in specific but all sigil talisman skulls. What is its purpose, why not just write the sigil in the traditional way. Why implement the skull? and the question about white vs black is more about the major public view. for example I personally use poppets(voodoo dolls if you will for lack of a better term) and I feel the public understanding is to associate that with black magik but it has uses in both "white" and "black". (though once again I do not find it so black and white(haha puns)). does that help clarify my question?

Hello moonbeam123,

First, I would do research online or whatever you can find at a library or maybe an online book store.

Second, Before I start with the public viewI do not believe that there is a particular difference between black or white magic(k), it is just how you use the energy around you flowed by will and intention. Now as for the public view I would think most people would believe it would be "black" magic(k). Of course, the true purpose would be discovered if you research it.

Hope that helps

Firstly there is no set ritual or uses for this skull or others like it. So I guess its use comes down to what you can draw from it the sigils would mean and do the same if carved into a pumpkin.

As for the use of skulls in magick there are many from reverence to possession and have been used for intimidation for centuries from the German 'Totenkopf' to the 'Jolly Roger'.

Ok so are you saying that if the sigil is used for a particular being(like the seals of solomon) and the skull is for possesion....that you can contain one of the beings called by the sigil(or any magikal effect of that sigil) into the skull and make the being "possess" the skull? or are you saying that using the skull would allow me or a target to become possessed?

once again by either the being or the effect of the sigil. Cause I occasionally use sigils, rarely but still.

Also could you direct me to some resources(books are preferred over websites) that would give a detailed description on using skulls in workings I would appreciated it.

The skull could be symbolical for knowledge or other things or could be used like a candle to strengthen your spells(if taken from an adept or better mage/witch)or the skull could be used in necromancy to talk with the dead a sort of "dead person phone" for the necromancer and along with the "dead person phone" it could also be used to trap a spirit or spirits and use them for your bidding in necromancy if you take to the darker sides of it anyways these are my own beliefs that this is what the skull represents.
