Everuone dreams. It is the natural process of the mind sorting through all the data collected, filtering out what needs to be saved and dumping the rest. If you didn't go through this process you would be lethargic, unable to take in new information or learn new things, and probably have severe psychological problems. It is more likely that you are not recalling your derams which is not unusual. However I would recommend speaking with your doctor about this and getting his or her opinion before looking for a magical cause.
TiredOfGaggs nailed it.
Your problem isn't lack of dreams, it is in fact, not remembering your dreams.
Before going to sleep, what i recommend is to fall asleep to the mantra "I will remember my dreams". It may sound really silly for few folks who get to hear this mantra, but I do this every night for a week before asking for questions to be answered through my dreams to make sure I will remember any answers given.
Eventually you will begin remembering bits and pieces. When you wake, don't get up right away. Try not to move at all. People who don't have good dream recall are usually ones who jump out of bed immediately. Think back about that night and go over any dreams or fragments you remember. Once you've consciously gone over anything that was recalled that night, sit up SLOWLY, continuing to concentrate on what you remember. Have a notebook (it's basically called a 'dream journal' as Nash explained to you) and pen ready at the side of your bed. Write down every detail that you remember. This should be also done if you wake up in the middle of the night too.
Do this every night for two weeks and you'll notice a big difference. Do it for a month and you'll begin remembering full dreams, sometimes even multiple ones depending on how pertinacious you are with this method.
A technique I teach my hypnosis clients is to have a pen and paper by the bed. Every night write, in cursive, "I will remember my dreams" ten times. Then go straight to sleep. This MUST be done right before going to sleep. And it must be done in cursive.
What happens is when you write it out a large number of times, your brain takes it in as information. All information you take in to your mind is held in what is called the Critical Factor, or CF. The CF's job is to decide what information you need to keep and what information you don't need. Then, when you sleep it is either stored in the subconscious (information you need) or dumped out through dreams (information you do not need). By doing it right before you go to sleep, your CF does not have time to sort it, so it is automatically dropped into the subconscious. Once it is in your subconscious, it is assimilated into your world view. Anything that you implant into your subconscious mind becomes the reality that your subconscious mind creates for you. It must be possible, of course. So, once what you have written down is dumped into your mind, your mind starts to become your reality.
The cursive is important because writing in cursive is what called ideomotor function. This means that you think about writing a word, and the subconscious mind directs the hand to make the correct movements for writing. Since the words must be in the subconscious mind for it to write them, they must be placed directly into the subconscious mind, thereby bypassing the CF and becoming part of your reality.
If you look hard, I dropped several nuggets about working magic as well in all that. :)
