Making Incense Sticks?
By: / Beginner
Hello everyone,
I began doing herbal work and making incenses several months ago. I usually burn my homemade incenses in a cauldron with a charcoal disk but I think using incense sticks would be easier. That way I could burn them quicker and in more places.

I'd like to learn a method to make incense sticks with my own herbal blends, I'm not sure what kind of supplies it would take or how to do it, so if I could get some pointers if no one would mind, that'd be great.

Thank you
blessed be

A really easy way to make incense sticks is simply this.
If there is a plant that you know that burns at a relatively even pace, cut stems or reeds from it. I prefer bamboo and ragweed. Both are also relatively scentless.
Take the herb you'd like to make the incense from, as well as the oil.
Dip the stem into the oil after the stem is still mildly green (let it dry a little, but not entirely first).
Then dip the wet stick into the dried and crushed herb. Leave one end clear so that it can be used as a base.
Hand it from that end and allow it time to dry.
The result should be an incense stick. If you want, you can mix the oil and powdered herb to create a sort of dough instead, and secure that to the stick, or simply mold it into whichever shape you want.
