Ive been trying to get into meditation lately, but alot of stress prevents me from focusing and concentrating.

Someone who can teach me how to overcome this hurdle would be welcome!

Alot of people meditate by blocking everything out and focusing on a specific goal that can be a little hard for beginners. Try instead of blocking the negative thoughts, focus on everythi positive in your life and invite them. when you do this that negative stress should fade out. And try to do this throughout your day it will make it easier when you meditate and your meditation will make it easier to think positive throughout your day. Thus giving you a nice cycle of positivity

Listening to music can help you focus, as well as prevent the boredom that some people get with meditation lasting for more than 5 minutes.

First you have to relax. If you want a really good exercise, look into Silva Method. It's the method I first learned when I was 13. It has been called Silva Ultramind, Sylva Healing, Silva Life System... It's all the same, just a different name. If you google it they have a free intro course on their website that will teach you the basic meditation. I highly recommend.
