i agree. drives me nuts when someone says it can't be done then proceeds to calmly explain the reasons why, maybe even give some solutions for the person to try, then it's thrown back in their face.

not all people are nice about it, and just reply with a 'you stupid fluff, it's fake' but when i see people leave a long explanation as to why you cannot become a vampire or whatever, only to be yelled at or called 'close-minded' drives me up the wall. i mentioned it in another post, but it's the same as going 'i know you are, but what am i?'

i'm sure many people know this about me, but i study Dragon Magick, i don't claim dragons are real physical beings, i don't claim one can become a dragon, ride a dragon, or whatever else, and i certainly don't expect everyone to believe me when i say i've dealt with astral dragons. i understand they're my beliefs, i'm not about to call someone close-minded because they don't believe astral dragons are real. this is why i don't get why so many people insist these astral beings are physically real and they can become one with a few words. i also don't get why anyone would want to be one. they've been romanticized, i get that, but i've always found it more of a curse than anything.

"when ALL of magic is just theories and goes unproven by science."

You say that as if theories and facts are different things in which they are not. A theroy is something that sums up hundreds of facts. And about the science thing. A friend and i are working on a theroy that will scientifically prove magick.

Amen. The things people dream up on here can be absurd. But to each their own. Great post though.

There should be a web page that pops up first before allowing you to come to this website that tells you what is not possible with magick. That way the kids that just got done watching there animes won't annoy us with there questions.

Transformation spells and those people who believe in them really boggle my mind. To believe in that sort of thing you really have to completely ignore facts and proven science. People seem to think all you'd have to do is change one or two things and poof- you're a mermaid. That's not how it works. That's not how genetics work. Chemistry. Physics. The deoxyribonucleic acid in our bodies contains the blueprints for our physical makeup. It's very complex, and has a very specific order it must be in. The slightest change, or codon that's out of place, throws the whole nucleotide sequence out of whack and can have disasterous results. A few words, a lit candle, isn't going to change those codons. And here: the human body is made up of primarily Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Calcium, Nitrogen and Phosphorus. A few words won't change those elements within you either. It all follows natural law, and science. It amazes me that people who know nothing of genetics, or what the human body is composed of, think they suddenly know the way to change it. Before you come to me claiming it's possible to turn into a werewolf, or a vampire, you need to open up a textbook and learn how things work- because it's a lot more complex then just wishing for an extra gene and poofing yourself into something else.

I really wonder why they want to become a vampire, werewolf, etc. I mean, sure; it'd be cool and all, but what would other people say if they saw your mythological form?

Secondly, could a person really keep something like that a secret?

I mean...it's like if I were a spy, and then somebody were to ask me: "So, what do you do for your occupation?"

I'd probably respond with: "Oh, I work for a secret organization that kills political adversaries overseas."

(The above is from AnnaAkana [youtube-user] )

Lastly...the closest you can get to being a creature like that...is probably if you were a psychic vampire or an otherkin. Not sure how it works though.
