Otherkin

Yes there are Some who are fooling themselves. But i believe there are also alot of otherkin

this is cool because i find it realy interesting i would like to know more about it i have some things that i would like explaned

Therianthropy refers to a physically human being who strongly identifies with a physical animal (past and present) on a psychological, behavioral, or spiritual manner. In essence, a Therian does not feel they are completely human in those aspects, though physical shifting and DNA of anything other than human is typically shunned by the majority of the legitimate Therians (lots and lots of bad apples, as many here can relate to with just about any practice or belief). There is an element of shifting, though it is psychological, behavioral, and/or phantasmal and can be spiritual or mental in nature.

Kinship is similar to Therianthropy in that a physical human identifies as not completely human, though the difference is that the Otherkin refer to entities that have never been and are not physical in nature. In ancient lore across the globe, kinship has existed in humans of spiritual ancestry. It is mostly in modern practice that we know of people who identify as having complete spirits or souls of beings who are not human.

Starseeds, Indigo/Rainbow Children, etc. are completely a New Age thought. Because it has no stance in tradition, less people take it seriously. However, that does not mean they do or don't exist. It merely means that is a new concept.

Is it possible to Otherkin and not know?

Yes, it is possible. Every Therian and Otherkin still have the traits even before they are 'awakened' (basically, realizing themselves as such). People can have opinions on it, though no one else can say if you are or are not Therian or Otherkin %100 for sure as they both relate to the self and personal identity. I will give a word of caution and state that it won't be a good idea for people who simply want to be different or for some just going with a flow. If you realize you have such traits and you strongly identify as something other than completely human on a non-physical level, then by all means, consider yourself as such. Just keep in mind that if you go around claiming it, you represent Therians and/or Otherkins to others.

I have a special ability to see auras, and energy and life forces. When it comes to the other kin, I've met three people who were telling the truth. When I let the ability through, otherkin have a hue to them, sort of a sparkling purple. Its odd, but true.

I find this subject to be very fascinating. Due to my studies in psychology, I tend to believe that people claiming to have a non human soul are just going through a disassociative phase. On the other hand, I have met some individuals that had a certain ferocity or animalistic quality. It could simply be that they are more attuned to their animal roots or they could possibly be "otherkin". Either way I will not deny the possibility of such existing. Who is to say that a soul has to be inherently human? :) L.L.B ~Angie

I believe that Otherkin are real. Some people who claim to be Otherkin are often not,but there are a few real otherkin that I know of. I also believe that it is possible for a person to be part Angel or Demon due to the fact that these beings CAN be "summoned" onto this plane of existence. I also believe that you do not have to be an Otherkin to share traits with a non-human entity.

Spirits are incorporeal, so they cannot be materialized as you can't make something out of nothing (so I wouldn't use that as an argument for belief in them). It's a deeply personal identification for those who are serious about it and is typically a process that takes some time, a lot of introspection, and finding oneself. I personally wouldn't trust anyone who just willy nilly calls themself anything that has nothing to do with who they are and what they do and you'll find those types in any community.

Interesting subject. I've never heard the term. I've always felt somewhat different than most peoples whole life but being raised by devout Christians I shunned things considered "unChristian like" until I became an adult. I've been extremely sensitive to other people and energies around me.
I could very well be one. I don't know for sure
