Re: Tolerance

Throughout my 7 years on this site and 9 years in the craft I have never been as serious as I am now. I've been on SOM just a couple years short of when it first began and I can still remember when this site was pure of heart and we as a community supported each other for better or for worse. We helped each other grow and thrive. But most of all we accepted one another for who we truly were.

It brings tears to my eye and breaks my heart every time I think of the past a realize that it is no longer existent. We used to be such a close knit community but only 7 years later that is all in shambles. Is it really that much to ask for everyone to be treated with equality? This community should know better than any other in the world of how terrible and hard it is to be persecuted endlessly for our beliefs. Why then would we seek to do the same to the members of our own community? People outside the craft beat us down and tell us we are wrong for believing in magic. Yet we beat down and tell these Vampires/Werewolves/whatever that they don't exist.

Is it really that hard to take the time to learn about them and impure yourself within their ideology for a single moment? I have studied alongside Vampires my entire life, I have spoken to hundreds if not thousands of Vampires on this site seeking knowledge of their views and beliefs. It has changed me as a person forever. Never again will I look upon the world in the same way because of these gracious people. Within every community there are outliers who pretend but if you take the time to look past that and into the truth of these people, it will enlighten you in a way never possible before. These people have something great to offer the world, please don't deny the community this any longer.

Thank You,

RainCaller

*Note: I do not claim to be a vampire, I was born and will always be only a psychic. I speak from truly a neutral stance, and share with you my experiences.

RainCaller, I have known many who claim to be vampires as well. And while in many regards they are frequently intelligent, good folks, their dependency on the vampire claim for individuality and emotional well being has always saddened me. When I have aided them in the past, they have always prospered and flourished in ways that they have not otherwise imagined when they were bent upon the vampire subculture and lifestyle. It is depressing to see one who is young, and full of potential (such as LonelySoul) give in to this fantasy and generally leave themselves inhibited by it - while simultaneously casting the metaphysical community as a whole in a rather unfavorable light.

It is for some. You described it as a community - underground, with its own concepts and so forth. This would be a lifestyle.

but very real, i do not understand why you think it is nothing more? i never claimed to this or that and i am not labeling my self, why is so hard to believe that people can drink blood? its truth. how are you so closed up in your version of a reality when ther eis no version, im not psycho or nothing, why do you even care what i call my self? you do not know me, and you don't even know what its like, i don't just crave blood, i need it, and its not a condition or anything, its a physical need.

No, it is not. You said yourself that the doctors found nothing wrong with you if you did not drink blood.

I never claimed that you were unable to drink blood. I said it was a psychological dependency.

Or, if as you said there is scientific evidence otherwise, please provide it.

As for why I care what you call yourself, as I said - it invites ridicule and casts a pallor of ignorance upon all metaphysical practitioners.

i never said that as it is kinda personal? actually my immune system drops, to compensate its usally energy as i am a minor, but as such my immune system worsens. the doctors call it a 'medical mystery'

I hate to interupt this lovely debate, (Still a little mad nobody cared about my post :/) but here is the scientific evidence:

People have been found to have very strange and rare conditions. For example, there are people who are allergic to sunlight, water, and even food. (That person is fed through IV) Point being, why would it be so strange for someone to actually NEED blood? The conditions out there are endless, and more are on there way; for example HIV only came into existance like 50 years ago.
