The issue is that any member could simply claim something worked when it didn't. That is why those spells which are clearly fake exist in the first place: someone lied and claimed something fantasy. Not to mention that we do not all approach spells in the same manner. And while one person may see results, another may not. We are all individuals. I do not think it would work out so well if we have people "testing" the spells. Especially moderators, as we are quite busy most of the time and we have lives outside of this website.

in theory would be a good idea, but really not practical, the numbers mostly. as you pointed oout there is over 6000 spells, and including all admin, mods, and editors on this site [working solely on spell casting] it would take months, not only to test all spells, but to wait for the results. some say it'll take a month, or a week, others ask for a certain set of circumstances. [like 3 days after the full moon falling on a Saturday with clear skies] on top of that, people still post spells daily, so it's a never ending cycle.

certain spells you can tell right away if you know about magic if they're real or not. other spells might take a minute to figure out, so research into the ingredients might be needed. this is why there's the star ranking system. while not perfect, it helps people figure out which spells work and which don't. the only person who can delete spells is Pet, he runs the site, so he's far more busy fixing bugs than looking at spells, so you can flag a spell and he'll look into it when he's got the time. you need to also remember that we have lives outside the site, so this is more of a spare time thing than a job for people. personally, i wish there would be a banner saying when a spell has been flagged for spam and is being looked into so people don't continue casting it.
