Actually some herbal teas can help you fall asleep. Chamomile is a really relaxing herb. It wont knock you out or anything like that but it will help you relax and fall asleep at night. Most grocery stores have it so it should be easy to find if you want to try it out.
3 tbs poppy seed (powder)
3 tbs thyme (powder)
milk (warmed up)
take a cup of water set it on boil add poppy seed and thyme both in a powder like substance. once dissolved pour 1/4 of cup of water into warm milk sir for a little bit drink it an hour before bed
Try Acupressure, it works great and no chance of overdose.
Place your finger or thumb in the wrist crease on the outside of the inner part of the hand, in line with the little finger. This point is the "Spirit Gate." Apply gentle pressure. This pressure point helps to relieve insomnia, fear, anxiety and a racing mind
Not sure where that site got it's information for accupressure, but some of it is inaccurate. The point you described is actually for stimulation of the testes/ovaries xD
For proper sleep I would suggest gently massaging the thumb or ball of your feet (both thyroid points) to help balance your energy. Valerian and melatonin was a good suggestion. Sometimes all one really needs is a nice warm bath and some quiet time with all electronics off ;)
