Absolutely. Different tones, and melodies inspire different emotions within our mind and body. With these emotions come energies that correspond with them. This can effect everything about a spell.

Music has the ability to alter the state of our mind and the energy around us. So yes it can affect spells. Music or sound is considered as one of the eight paths of gnosis as stated by Gerald Gardner. It is a medatative state and can be used for any number of magical practices from trance work to actual spell casting using sound and maybe even dance.

Yes. If you want music in the background, it is generally easier to concentrate with only instrumental music on. At least, I find it so.
